Recently, a troubling incident came to light when an employee of a private company had his salary deducted due to an unfortunate situation.

This incident gained attention on Reddit, where the individual shared his harrowing experience of being stuck in an elevator on his way to work.

The incident unfolded when the elevator, which is essential for reaching the 7th floor, malfunctioned repeatedly.

Despite notifying the maintenance department about the elevator's issues, no action was taken.

One day, the elevator suddenly stopped working, and the power went out. The employee was unable to contact the maintenance department or her office.

After several attempts, he managed to inform the HR department, which sent a maintenance technician to rescue his. It took three hours to free his from the elevator.

Upon returning to the office and attempting to punch in his attendance, the HR department marked his as absent and decided to reduce her salary.

The employee protested, suggesting he would take a day off if they considered his absent.

However, his manager insisted he work, citing staff shortages. Frustrated, he recorded the elevator incident and documented the conversation with HR and his manager, with plans to file a grievance report at a higher level, as he wrote in Reddit. 

The Reddit post generated significant attention, with many users expressing their outrage at the treatment of employees by some companies.

Commenters emphasised the importance of recording such incidents and maintaining email trails.

They criticised companies for their behaviour and called for individuals to explore new job opportunities while holding higher-ups accountable.
