WTC Final: Australia take 173-run lead after bowling out India for 296 despite Rahane, Thakur fifties
In a sweet gesture, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star batter Rinku Singh touched the feet of former India captain and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).
The incident happened following KKR’s recent victory over RCB in an IPL 2023 encounter at the MA Chinnaswamy Stadium.
KKR restricted RCB to 179/8 in the stipulated 20 overs to win the match by 21 runs and garner two important points. When both the teams’ players were having their customary handshakes after the match, Rinku went up to Kohli and touched his feet. Subsequently, the star batter hugged the youngster.
Rinku is going through a purple patch in IPL 2023. He is in the limelight from the start of the season when he hit five sixes in the final over against Gujarat Titans to script a thrilling win for KKR. Kohli had heaped huge praise on Rinku.
“What the youngsters are doing is amazing to see. Look at this IPL, I couldn’t even think of doing stuff what these young guys are doing. Just the other night, Rinku Singh hits five Sixes in last five balls which is amazing and never happened something like that. Coming in and hitting five sixes in a row to win a match, I mean what level is this? So that transition is happening is great. It is great to see such youngsters coming up,” Kohli had earlier said while praising Rinku’s hitting prowess.
