Unrest was reported on the premises of BJB Autonomous College in Bhubaneswar on Friday as two groups of students reportedly clashed while the internal examination of the MBA course was underway. At least six students were reportedly injured in the clash.
The injured students are said to be affiliated with the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

Though the exact reason behind the clash is yet to be ascertained, the injured students alleged before the media that some students of the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) brutally attacked them.

As per allegations, the internal examination was going on in the college when a group of around 40 students rushed to the new Arts block and attacked the ABVP students, of whom six were injured.

The injured students alleged that a decision was taken two days ago to form a campus committee of the ABVP which was opposed by the BCJD members. The BCJD has already formed its campus committee, but opposed the AVBP bid, leading to this attack, it was alleged.

Following the incident, police rushed to the college to take stock of the situation.
Speaking to the media, Principal of BJB College, Prod Gulam Moiuddin Khan, said, "I got to know of the clash and we will look into the matter. Our priority is to provide first aid to the injured students. Police are on the campus to take statements of the injured students.”

However, the principal ruled out the entry of outside students and any political interference.
