A foreign tourist allegedly entered the Lord Jagannath temple premises in Puri on Saturday. The tourist reportedly entered the temple, where foreigners are not allowed, and allegedly attacked some security personnel. The tourist has been identified as Thomas Sheldon. 

As per reports, Sheldon was found in an inebriated condition on Puri beach earlier during the day. Some locals said Marine Police rescued Sheldon and took him to the police station. Later, his family members, who are staying at an ashram in Puri, took him after submitting an undertaking at the police station.

However, Thomas returned and entered the Srimandir premises. At Beharandwara of Srimandir, he allegedly had an altercation with security personnel before attacking them.

The police caught hold of him and started an investigation into the matter.

However, no reaction has been received from the police.
