Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover dominated the comedy industry with their unique timing and fantastic acting skills. The Comedy Nights with Kapil was such a big hit that the show was in huge demand overseas as well with leading entertainment houses across the globe inviting them to conduct live shows of the team in their countries.
However, no one had ever thought that their team will break and the leading comedians of Indian television will part ways. But it did happen! And since then the audience and lovers of this comedy show have been dreaming that the two will reunite and once again.
Fans have been, since then, deprived of the exceptional comedy acts of these biggest entertainers. Though Kapil Sharma did return with The Kapil Sharma Show’s new season, it was with another group of comedians and not with Sunil.

The embarrassing feud between Kapil and Sunil
Reportedly, during a flight, Kapil and Sunil had a big fight. Kapil incidentally had drowned an entire bottle of whiskey and when he saw that his team members on the flight had already started having dinner without him, it was a big jolt to his ego. When Sunil tried to calm him down, Kapil simply took off his shoe and hurled it at Sunil and reportedly also pulled his collar and beat him several times with the shoe.
He repeatedly abused Sunil and said, “Gaya tha na tu toh. Aaya na waapas mere hi paas.” He was referring to Sunil earlier leaving Comedy Nights with Kapil for another show which was aired on a different channel. But since the show failed to garner the required TRP he returned back to Kapil’s show. But this insult hurt Sunil so much that he simply left the show.
The new team of Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh did try their level best to match the same level of excellence in comedy as achieved by the team of Sunil and Kapil but alas, the audience still felt that something was amiss. And now the TRP has really gone down with even Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh leaving the show for personal reasons and the current group of comedians failing to excite and entertain everyone as expected.
Sunil has multiple projects in hand
While Kapil thought he was the reason why Sunil had become so famous, the latter proved him wrong. Ever since Sunil left the comedy show, he explored better opportunities as an actor and has appeared in many good movies and web series including Tandav, Bharat, and Sunflower. Last, he was seen with Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna in Goodbye, and next he will be seen with Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee’s Jawan.
Now, even if Kapil wants Sunil to return, the Gutthi of Indian television does not have time for his comedy show and has come very far from what he was earlier. He can be considered the next star in the making with the potential to make it big in movies and on the OTT platform in strong, character roles the way Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pankaj Tripathi have evolved.
So, now although Kapil requires a good comedian like Sunil Grover to get those high TRPs for his comedy show back, Sunil is now too busy to even think about it.
