Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Maneshinde has said that his client never leaked the name of Deepika Padukone to NCB. During an interview on CNNNews18, the leading lawyer of Mumbai expressed his opinion regarding the celebrity connection with drug deals and how he is viewing the entire operation in this case by NCB.

Maneshinde said, "First thing I want to make this clear that Rhea Chakraborty has not named anybody in her statement. If the NCB or anybody is making a statement that she has leaked then that is totally false. And there is no evidence to suggest that Rhea has named anybody apart from Sushant Singh Rajput who consumed all the time she was with him. "

The lawyer further added, "The entire investigation started with Sushant's death. Mumbai police did it, CBI did it, Patna police came in, they found nothing. NCB has come now with some chat messages which were exchanged with various people. The thurst of NCB is on was Sushant Singh Rajput consuming drugs."

Maneshinde Says Offense of Deepika Padukone is Punishable For Only 1 Year

The lawyer also questioned under what authority the NCB has sent the summons to Deepika Padukone and the other celebrities. He said, "I must tell you that the offense which Deepika Padukone and others are being accused of are all punishable for one year. The time limit under criminal procedures for investigating such cases is 1 year. Because the punishment is one year the maximum time of cognizance can be taken is one year."

While discussing the charges of Rhea Chakraborty being a part of the syndicate procuring drugs, Maneshinde said, "Being in the household of Sushant Singh Rajput cannot be termed as a syndicate, there is no allegation that she dealt with anybody."

So if Rhea Chakraborty did not leak the names of Deepika Padukone then who did it?

Has NCB Summoned Deepika On Basis of Her Chats With Karishma Prakash?

It is difficult to arrest someone in a drug case if there are no seizures. And that is why NCB has taken custody of Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty but until now there have been no arrests. Similarly, the NCB must be having more proofs against actors like Deepika and Rakul apart from WhatsApp chats. And that is why the authorities have summoned them.

It is because yesterday during an interview an NCB official said, "Currently, no such decision has been taken. Mere WhatsApp chats do not prove criminality and are not grounds enough for issuing summons.” It means now NCB has some more evidence against Deepika apart from the WhatsApp chats retrieved by the Enforcement Directorate (ED)  during SSR's investigation.

Yesterday the NCB summoned the manager of Deepika Karishma Prakash who is also an employee at the KWAN talent agency. But she did not report to NCB citing health reasons.
