Odisha’s daily COVID cases remain below 500. State registers 488 infections in last 24 hrs
India reported 14,092 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, a marginal decline from the previous day's count of 15,815 Covid, said the Union Health Ministry on Sunday.

With the new fatalities, the nationwide death toll now stands at 5,26,996.
The team from Scripps Research Institute in California identified the antibodies, from rhesus macaque monkeys, that are effective against many different SARS-CoV-2 variants, as well as other SARS viruses like SARS-CoV-1, the highly lethal virus that caused an outbreak in 2003.

The decision was taken by the DDMA after noticing that people were not adhering to wearing of masks at public places.
While the daily positivity rate also declined to 4.58 per cent, the weekly positivity rate stood at 4.85 per cent.
The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on June 4 approved Corbevax as a precaution dose for those aged 18 and above.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.94 per cent, while the weekly positivity was 4.90 per cent, the ministry said.

Raising concerns on slow pace of vaccination in the State, Panigrahi said the government is committed to complete the vaccination drive in the stipulated time period.

In the same period, the country reported 40 more Covid deaths, taking the nationwide death toll to 5,26,689.
The Centre has also asked these states to increase the pace of vaccination for all eligible population and accelerate the administration of free precaution doses.
