Congress' Barabati-Cuttack candidate selection: Sofia Firdous' name sent to AICC

Congress MLA Mohammed Moquim’s daughter Sofia Firdous may contest on a Congress ticket from the Barabati-Cuttack Assembly seat as the party on Saturday sent her recommendation to the high command. 

Informing about the development, the party's Odisha in-charge, Ajoy Kumar said, “I discussed with the senior leaders and workers. They unanimously chose Sofia. Her name has been sent to the AICC. The final call will be taken by the AICC.”

Over the last couple of days, Sofia has been seen attending meetings. 

Given the uncertainty of Moquim’s political career due to pending legal issues, party leaders and workers have put forth Sofia’s name for the Barabati-Cuttack Assembly seat.
