The 75-day long free booster dose drive under ‘COVID Vaccination Amrit Mahotsava’ is going to end soon. Surprisingly, at least 75% of people in Odisha, which accounts for nearly 2.4 crore population, is still to be administered with the precaution dose. Moreover, at least 23.32 lakh people have not taken their second dose.

Covid Update August 27: India’s Daily Cases Drop Below 10K, Odisha’s Death Toll On Rise

The overall nationwide death toll now stands at 5,27,597.

The average daily doses administered has increased to 27.77 lakh doses per day from 11.4 lakh doses per day (of 15 days) prior to the launch of the campaign.

The active caseload dipped to 90,707, accounting for 0.20 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

Odisha registers 335 COVID infections in last 24 hours. Fresh cases take active case tally to 2148. Khordha sees 62 new cases, Sundargarh records 78 infections. The virus claims another life in Odisha, toll mounts to 9168. India also sees a faint rise in daily cases. Country detected 10,725 COVID cases in the last 24 hours. Daily positivity rate currently stands at 2.73% . 

Odisha had recorded 206 infections and a fatality on Tuesday.
