While electioneering is gathering pace in Odisha, BJP National President JP Nadda and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will arrive in the state on Sunday to join their respective party’s campaigning.

As per the itinerary, Rahul Gandhi will reach Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 11.40 am. From there, he will go to Satyabhamapur, the birthplace of Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das in a helicopter. From there, he will go to Salepur where he is scheduled to address a public meeting. Party leaders, workers and people from Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Jajpur will be attending the meeting, informed sources.

“Congress will fight for the pride and identity of Odia people. To further this cause, our leader Rahul Gandhi will address people at Salepur,” said Odisha Congress media cell president, Biswaranjan Mohanty.

On the other hand, BJP National President JP Nadda will reach the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 4.30 pm. A special flight will take him to Rangeilunda airstrip in Berhampur. From there, he will proceed to Ambapua by road where he will address a public meeting.

Later at around 6.45 pm, he will meet party workers from Berhampur, Aska, Nabarangpur and Koraput parliamentary constituencies. He will spend the night in Berhampur.

“I urge Ganjam people to attend JP Nadda’s meeting for the sake of their future, district’s future and state’s future,” said BJP’s Berhampur MP candidate, Pradeep Panigrahi.

While it is being discussed that the frequent visits of BJP national leaders to Odisha will help boost party workers’ morale, BJD dismissed it saying they remember Odisha when the election is around the corner.

“It is common to see Congress and BJP leaders visit Odisha during election time. But these visits won’t affect the BJD’s performance in any way as the Chief Minister is in people’s hearts,” said BJD MLA Snehangini Chhuria.
