Kolkata: Sprinting sensation Dutee Chand and Srabani Nanda of Odisha today won gold and silver respectively in 200 meter race in the 55th National Athletic championship going on here.
Both the runners, who are representing Railway, also bagged gold in 4X100 relay race. Earlier on Thursday, Dutee had earned gold in 100 metre race while Srabani clinched silver.
Notably, Chand was banned from participating in the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow after tests had shown naturally occurring higher levels of testosterone in her body. Later, Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) cleared her, saying that the natural level of testosterone in an athlete’s body is not a reason to ban women from competing.
