As many as 273 women Aginveers, coming from different parts of the nation, have recently completed their training at INS Chilika, the training establishment of the Indian Navy.
Though they have repaid their loans, they are shown as debtors in the official documents. This indicates that some others have taken loans in their names through manipulation.
There is a huge gap between the number of women and men in the workforce. To bridge that gap, Jagi Mangat Panda, the managing director of Odisha Television Limited (OTV), said that it’s her dream to increase the participation of more women in the workforce.
Addressing a gathering at the sixth annual function of a leading voluntary organisation, Maheswari Sangathan in Bolangir, Panda said, “Women should be encouraged in the workforce. We have a target of at least 50 per cent women in workforce. Inclusion of more women in the workforce is my dream.”
