Millionaire Farmer From Odisha’s Nuapada Providing Jobs To 100 Families

A farmer is earning crores of rupees by farming. He has got the honor of millionaire farmer of the district. Not just that, this farmer has provided employment to nearly 100 families in the village who were otherwise migrating for work. This farmer named,  Mukesh Chandrakar, a millionaire farmer from Beltukuri village in Nuapada district.

Inspired by his friend’s farm, he started palm farming on six acres of ancestral land. Today, he owns 77 acres, where he not only grows palms but also cultivates bananas on 10 acres, cocoa on 6 acres, and various vegetables. His efforts yield him an annual profit exceeding one crore rupees. Recognizing his success, the Indian Agricultural Research Institute honored him as Nuapada district's "Millionaire Farmer of 2024."

Mukesh is not just a millionaire farmer through his agricultural ventures; he has also become a source of livelihood for nearby villages. People from 5-7 surrounding villages, particularly in Nuapada and Bargarh districts, are now employed at his farm. Nearly 100 families, who once migrated in search of work, are now happily earning a living close to home thanks to the opportunities he has created.

Mukesh's farming efforts have been highly praised by the Assistant Director of Horticulture. He mentioned that other farmers could also draw inspiration from Mukesh’s success, take up palm cultivation, become self-reliant, and create employment opportunities for others.
