The Ministry had launched the Yoga module for people at work place with a view to refresh, de-stress and refocus them with enhanced efficiency and productivity in January 2020. An android based application Y Break was made available recently on Google Play Store for access by all.
The UGC has also asked the universities and colleges to conduct these events at regular intervals by following the Covid-19 protocols and social distancing norms in their respective educational institutions.
The UGC has also sent notices to all universities and colleges regarding the exams conducted through 'Swayam'.
Based on the complaints received from the students, parents, general public and also through electronic print media, UGC has declared 24 self styled institutes as fake universities.
The extension is a special measure to provide some cushion to the candidates who qualified the December 2018 or June 2019 UGC-NET / Joint CSIR-UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under the UGC scheme

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released fresh guidelines for conduct of exams, admissions and academic calendar. The new guidelines have been issued in view of the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation.
UGC has clearly instructed that the entire fees, including all charges, should be refunded (i.e. there should be zero cancellation charges) on account of cancellations/ migrations up to October 31, 2021.
It is expected that all School Boards will declare their results for the class/grade-XII examinations by July 31, 2021
