Ahead of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission into Under Graduate programmes for the academic session 2023-2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday released an important notice.

As per the NTA, the CUET (UG) - 2023 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode for about 14.99 lakh candidates at various examination centres located in 295 cities across India and abroad.

21 May 2023 to 02 June 2023 and 05, 06 June 2023 (07 and 08 June 2023 will be buffer days)

The CUET (UG) – 2023 has been scheduled for 14, 99, 778 candidates who have opted for 64,35,050 Test Papers. These candidates have applied for 48,779 unique combinations of subjects across 250 Central, State, and other participating universities / Institutions / Organizations for the Academic session 2023-2024.

Admit Cards for the candidates whose examinations are scheduled on 21, 22, 23, and 24 May 2023, have been released.

Regarding Jammu and Kashmir, a total of 87309 unique candidates have been registered from Jammu and Kashmir. For 21, 22, 23, and 24 May 2023, a total of 18012 candidates will be appearing in 12 Centers in Jammu and Kashmir, 3 in Jammu, 5 in Srinagar, 2 in Baramulla, 1 each in Samba and Pulwama.

For 25, 26, 27, and 28 May 2023, a total of 44425 candidates will be appearing in 15 Centres created in Jammu and Kashmir. Some candidates have been moved out of the State. However, being sensitive to the needs of candidates and to ease the access of the students of Jammu and Kashmir, the NTA is exploring the possibility of creating a temporary Centre in Srinagar. This will enable NTA to bring back most of the candidates to the State.

However, the number of candidates is extremely large, and some candidates may still have to take the CUET (UG) outside the State.

A total of 178630 candidates have registered from the Jharkhand state. For 21, 22, 23, and 24 May 2023, a total of 52793 candidates will be appearing in 19 Centers in Jharkhand, which is again a phenomenal increase. For 25, 26, 27, and 28 May 2023, a total of 77797 candidates will be appearing in 14 Centres in Jharkhand.

About 3697 candidates earlier opted to appear in Manipur for the CUET (UG) – 2023 examination. NTA has carefully reviewed the law-and-order situation in consultation with the State Administration and contacted these candidates by telephone for asking their preferred city for the said examination. Some candidates who were not in Manipur or wanted to take the examination in another State/City are being allocated to other cities i.e., Delhi, Guwahati, etc. The option for a change of Centre for candidates from Manipur is still available.

Moreover, after contacting the State administration, the NTA has been advised to keep all examinations in the State of Manipur from 29 May 2023 onwards.
