At around 3 to 4 am today, Surendra along with his wife and three relatives was on his way from Berhampur in Ganjam district to Rourkela in Sundargarh district when the driver lost control over the vehicle which rammed into a roadside tree.

Vehicular movement on the route was disrupted for several hours after a tree uprooted and fell in the middle of the road following the accident forcing hundreds of vehicles stranded on both sides of the road.
