Sundergarh/Nuapada: At least five people were killed in two separate road mishaps in Odisha on late Friday night.

According to reports, three persons died after a truck rammed into a roadside juice shop in Kutra Bazaar area of Sundergarh district late Friday night.

The deceased have been identified as Brijesh Souria, Jiledar Sonakar and Udar Sunakar. All of them are residents of Uttar Pradesh.

Reports said, all the deceased persons were sleeping inside the juice shop when the mishap occurred after the driver of the truck lost control over the vehicle.

While one of them died on the spot, the two others succumbed to injuries while being shifted to VIMSAR in Burla.

On being informed, Kutra police rushed to the spot and detained the driver of the truck. Police is interrogating the truck driver while further investigation is still on, sources informed.

In another incident, two people were killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Nuapada.
The deceased have been identified as Mohan Bariha of Kodapalli village and Nrutan Rout of Dera village in Nuapada district.

Though locals rushed them to the Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), the doctors declared them brought dead, sources said.

Later, Dharambandha police seized bodies of the two youths and sent it for post-mortem.
