2 killed as car rams into stationary truck in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Two brothers were killed after a speeding car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck on National Highway- 20 near MSP Plant under Sadar police station in Keonjhar district in the wee hours on Saturday.

The two deceased have been identified as Sanjeeb Tripathy and Srikant Tripathy of Joda East in Keonjhar district. The Hyundai i10 car was registered in the name of Srikant. They were returning to their home after attending their sister's marriage in Keonjhar town, sources said.

According to reports, the mishap occurred after the driver of the car lost control over wheels and rammed the vehicle into the stationary truck.

The intensity of the collision was so high that the front portion of the car has been completely damaged in the accident.

On being informed, police and fire personnel have rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation to pull out the bodies from the car.

Meanwhile, further investigation in connection with the road mishap is on, police said.
