A serious ragging incident has come to light at the Law College of Utkal University, causing concern over student safety and discipline on campus. According to reports, a third-year LLB student allegedly assaulted a second-year student after the junior resisted ragging. The altercation has raised fears of student unrest at the university.

The victim has reportedly approached the Shaheed Nagar Police Station to file a formal complaint against the accused senior student. Authorities at the university are expected to investigate the matter and take strict action to prevent any further incidents of ragging.

The incident highlights the ongoing challenges universities face in ensuring a safe and harassment-free environment for students.

“A meeting was held with the juniors. Later, seniors attacked us because they had ragged us and we had given a written complaint to the principal. However, no action was taken in this regard,” alleged a student.

Another student alleged, “There have been allegations of ragging. Students had also submitted written complaint to the Principal. Today’s incident happened as the Principal couldn’t take any step in this regard. A student has injured his ear, which has caused hearing loss. The injured students have been taken to the hospital.”
