Higher Secondary Schools and institutions across Odisha started the first phase of Plus II admission for 2021-22 academic session on Tuesday. On Monday, the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) released the first cut-off list for students seeking admission into various streams.
In view of the pass percentage in the 2021 Matriculation examination, the State government has decided to increase seats in Plus II streams in various colleges across the State.

S&ME department Additional Secretary Subhashree Nanda informed that the government has accorded permission for inviting online applications from Plus 2 colleges for an increase in seats.
Though the State used to witness a vacancy of around 1 lakh seats in Plus 2 colleges every year, the high pass percentage has left thousands of students worried about their admission.
