The much-awaited admission process to Plus II streams in higher secondary schools across Odisha has started from today.

Students aspiring to take admission in Class XI at Higher Secondary Schools under the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) can apply online through Students Academic Management System (SAMS) portal, a web-based admission platform for all admission-related functions.

Online Common Application Form (CAF) is now available at www.samsodisha.gov.in from 11 am today. Students can apply online for admission till September 5.

The first merit list of students will be published at 11.30 am on September 13 and the first phase of admission will take place between September 14 and 21. Similarly, the second merit list will be published at 4 pm on September 27 and the subsequent phase of admission will be conducted from September 29 to October 1.

After two phases of admission, list of the rest of the seats will be announced on October 4 and students can register themselves for spot admissions on the same day and the following day. 

The merit list of the students for spot admission will be announced on October 5 and selected students will take admission on October 7. The admission process will end by October 8.

It is worth mentioning that over six lakh students have passed the 2021 BSE class 10 examination this year. In view of the record pass percentage, the State government has decided to increase seats in Plus II streams in various colleges across the State. 

The School and Mass Education department recently announced to increase 38,000 seats in Arts, 13,000 seats in Science, and 3,900 seats in the Commerce stream. There will be no hike in admission fees for any self-financing courses in any government colleges.
