Meanwhile, Congress member Taraprasad Bahinipati and BJP member Mukesh Mahaling demanded the government to increase the old age pension to Rs 2,000. They also urged the government to include eligible persons waiting for the pension for a long period.
The BJP alleged that despite being an electricity-surplus state, the tariff in Odisha is on an increasing trend. The saffron party also alleged that the distribution company, Tata Power is levying more tariffs on the public to cover operational losses.

In view of the surge in forest fire incidents, Odisha Chief Secretary chaired a high-level meeting on Monday. The state government is taking stern action against those, who are entering the forests and involved in forest fire incidents, the Minister informed the House today.
The Chief Minister and other ministers have made a total of 76 helicopter trips from March, 2021 to February, 2023.

“What is 5T, it is not understandable. Is it a department? If so, where is its office, at Rajiv Bhawan, Lok Seva Bhawan or Kharavela Bhawan? Whether the 5T department has been created to diminish the authority of other departments," Mishra questioned.
