KIIT University issue raised in Odisha Legislative Assembly again

The KIIT University issue was raised in the Odisha Legislative Assembly during discussions on the demand for grant of the Higher Education Department on Tuesday.

According to sources, BJD MLAs Ranendra Pratap Swain and Sarada Jena brought up the matter, highlighting concerns over the institution’s management.

Sarada Jena pointed out that India had to apologise to Nepal due to the issue at KIIT University, emphasizing that while the incident is past us, future governance and accountability remain critical concerns. He questioned when the investigation report on the issue would be presented before the Assembly.

“KIIT University incident is condemnable. The way the Odisha government handled the situation, it soured the India-Nepal relationship and we have to apologize to the negighbouring country. When the investigation report of the high-level committee will be tabled in the Assembly, I questioned the Higher Education Minister,” Jena said.
