A case has been registered against Achyuta Samanta and others at the Infocity Police Station in Bhubaneswar in connection with land grab allegations.

According to sources, the police have filed the case under sections 329(3), 324(4), 303(2), 351(2), and 3(5) of the BNS based on a complaint lodged by one Bansidhar Behera, a resident of Tankapani Road in the capital city.

Behera alleged that his 100-decimal land near KISS was forcibly encroached. The complaint also stated that the boundary wall was demolished, and trees within the property were destroyed.

“This is our personal land. Eight people including me purchased 1-acre land, (100 decimal each and left 200 decimal for road). They tried to encroach upon our plot. We have constructed a 6-foot high compound wall but they also broke it from the three sides. Sand, gravel, and bamboo have been dumped on our land. We have lodged an FIR and waiting for police response,” Behera alleged.

Earlier on Monday, a group of senior citizens filed a complaint with the Chief Minister's grievance cell, alleging that their land had been forcibly encroached upon. They accused the KIIT authorities of blocking roads and land by dumping sand and gravel, as well as constructing a gate on the main road, preventing them from accessing the land they had legally purchased.

Reports suggest that some senior citizens from Patharagadia had earlier lodged complaints with the NHRC, alleging that over one acre of land was forcefully taken over by KIIT and KISS authorities.

On July 12, Bansidhar Behera and others filed a formal complaint at the Infocity Police Station against Achyuta Samanta and KIIT officials. No comments were received from the police over the matter.

However, despite multiple attempts, no comments from Achyuta Samanta could be obtained over the allegations.
