Addressing concerns regarding the project's earlier proposed route, the minister pointed out that the previous government had planned the metro rail service only up to Trisulia. However, he questioned the practicality of this alignment, stating, "What will people do by traveling only up to Trisulia? The route must be extended to Cuttack to serve its actual purpose."
To ensure an optimal and efficient metro network, a dedicated committee is currently conducting a detailed study of the project. Based on their findings, the Odisha government will consider expanding the Bhubaneswar metro rail project’s reach beyond its originally proposed limits to make it more viable for commuters, he said.
Bhubaneswar’s metro rail project has entered a crucial phase with the commencement of precast construction at its dedicated facility.
According to reports, the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has launched operations at its precasting workshop and coach maintenance depot, aiming to speed up infrastructure development for the 26-km-long elevated corridor.
