Odisha extends KYC deadline for PM-KISAN, check details
The Odisha Government on Friday announced a major relief for farmers who were left out of the PM-KISAN scheme. All beneficiaries of the CM-KISAN scheme will now get another six months’ time, starting from September 8, 2025, to complete their KYC update and join PM-KISAN.
Beneficiaries are required to finish processes such as KYC, land seeding, and NPCI seeding within this period to avail of benefits. To ensure that no farmer is left out, the government has also launched a special drive to include more farmers in the central scheme. Once they update their KYC, CM-KISAN beneficiaries will be able to avail the benefits of PM-KISAN.
According to official data, while 51.54 lakh farmers are enrolled under CM-KISAN, only 34.85 lakh have been brought under PM-KISAN so far. Compared to last year, the new government has managed to add over 6 lakh more beneficiaries into PM-KISAN.

The order, issued by Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, stated that the decision was taken in line with the norms of the PM-KISAN scheme.
Officials said this move will significantly increase the number of farmers receiving direct assistance from the Centre, while also strengthening the state’s welfare outreach to rural households.
The notification has been forwarded to multiple government departments, including the Chief Secretary’s office, Agriculture & Food Production Directorate, Fisheries, Animal Resources Development, and the Accountant General for necessary action. It will also be published in the Odisha Gazette and uploaded on the department’s official website for public information.
