An alarming 14 deaths occur in Odisha every day due to road accidents, revealed State Commerce and Transport Minister, Tukuni Sahu in the Odisha Assembly on Thursday.

Meanwhile, National Vice President BJP, Baijayant Jay Panda also took to Twitter and wrote, "Ever since Droupadi Murmu ji has been nominated for the President by the NDA, she has been targeted and called names by Congress party. This exposes their anti-tribal and anti-backward classes mindset. Now calling her 'Rashtrapatni' is crossing all limits and is highly condemnable. 

The Opposition members said that a due of Rs 20 crore was not paid to the L&T on time. Now, the amount has gone up to Rs 120 crore including interest.

Raising the matter in the House, BJD MLA Sanjeeb Mallick said,  “Rs 3 crore is allotted for MLA-LAD fund. Of the Rs 3 crore, Rs 2 crore is for miscellaneous expenses while Rs 50 lakh each is meant for education and construction of roads.”

Some Opposition leaders also alleged that most of the paddy seeds provided by the State government to the farmers are not even getting germinated.

Raising the issue during zero hour, Congress legislature party leader Narasingha Mishra sought a statement from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Taking a jibe at State government’s Mo Bus, Mo Cycle and Mo Sarkar schemes, Sethi said, “Why doesn’t the government come up with Mo Cold Store, Mo Farm Production schemes, which would actually help the farmers.”

Senior Congress leader and Jeypore MLA, Tara Prasad Bahinipati slammed the government asking about the Biju Janata Dal’s (BJD’s) 2014 election manifesto where it had promised to provide 2 lakh jobs to the youths of Odisha.

The Odisha government has identified 3,740 Bangladeshi infiltrators who are staying in the state, Minister of State (MoS) for Home, Tusharkanti Behera told Odisha Assembly on Monday.
