With the festive season round the corner, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a fresh set of guidelines for celebration of Durga Puja under its jurisdiction, from October 11 to October 15, 2021.
The Durga Puja will be celebrated from October 11 to October 13, 2021. Hence, any congregation for celebration of the festival including associated religious and cultural congregation shall not be allowed in public within BMC jurisdiction, the latest notification read.
The High Court preferred not to interfere in the government order issued for larger public health and safety to check any further spread of Covid 19 virus during the pandemic times.
In its pray, the Puja committee had urged the Court to direct the Cuttack district administration and the State government to permit the continuation of the 500-year-old tradition at the Durga Puja mandap.
