Bhubaneswar: Twin City Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty on Wednesday reviewed security arrangements at different Durga puja pandals in the city.

After undertaking visits to different pandals here, Mohanty stated, "The police will strengthen its arrangements near puja pandals close to the National Highway so that there will be better traffic regulation. We also request people to obey traffic restrictions to ensure hassle-free darshan at pandals."

He urged devotees to visit pandals in two-wheelers to lessen vehicular congestion.

The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements in twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. A total of 40 platoons of police forces along with the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), Striking Force and Quick Action Team (QAT) have been deployed in different areas of Cuttack to maintain law and order. Besides, the police personnel are deployed in plain clothes to ensure the safety of women and keep an eye on chain snatching incidents.

Similarly, in Bhubaneswar, 35 platoons of police forces have been ` deployed along with 250 other officers for smooth conduct of the Durga Puja.
