The High Court preferred not to interfere in the government order issued for larger public health and safety to check any further spread of Covid 19 virus during the pandemic times.
In its pray, the Puja committee had urged the Court to direct the Cuttack district administration and the State government to permit the continuation of the 500-year-old tradition at the Durga Puja mandap.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for a 12-hour bandh in Cuttack on Monday (September 13) in protest against the guidelines of the state government for the festive season ahead.
Senior BJP leader Samir Dey on Sunday said that the party will observe the bandh from 6 am to 6 pm in Cuttack. The Bandh has been called to protect the interest of the people and senior members of puja committee and civil society, he said.
The State government's refusal to grant relaxation in Puja guidelines has once again attracted resentment among people and political parties.
Not only Cuttack, Durga puja organisors in Bhubaneswar too are gearing up to observe a similar bandh in the Smart City. Today, a delegation met the Twin City Police Commissioner and demanded to reconsider such directives which tend to dampen the festive atmosphere.
The Cuttack city unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced its decision to observe bandh in the city on September 13 to protest the several restrictions imposed by the State government during Durga Puja.
"The government should take the decision considering the religious sentiments of people. Relaxing the COVID restrictions will not lead to the unprecedented spread of the pandemic.
