Mohapatra made this startling revelation in OTV’s Jana Mancha programme titled ‘Dhamnagar Ghamasan’
Flood is a constant threat for these people and a major issue during elections. Probably why, the voters have never repeated any MLA from the constituency since 2020.
Is Jajpur calling the shots in Dhamnagar? The question surfaced in a recent BJD meeting in Bhadrak where a party member expressed his dissatisfaction over excess meddling of party leaders from Jajpur in the by-election.
While streets, lanes and by-lanes in poll-bound Dhamnagar are dotted with banners and posters of the candidates; bike rallies, meetings and road shows are being organised on a regular basis.

Candidates along with leaders are seen leaving no stone unturned to woo voters in the poll-bound Assembly constituency.
While Das’ father and mother names are on the top position of the viral campaigner list, elderly persons, uncles and aunties are in the second and third position.
Today it is to be seen whether rebel BJD leader Rajendra Das will withdraw his nomination papers, obeying party discipline or will stick to his guns.
The BJD’s list has 40 names as its star campaigners, excluding actor-turned politician Anubhav Mohanty and Minister Samir Dash.
Odisha BJP President Samir Mohanty along with three union ministers- Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Bisweswar Tudu has been listed as the star campaigner.
The Dhamnagar bypoll is all set to see a fight between Abanti Das (BJD), Suryabanshi Suraj (BJP), Baba Harekrushna Sethi (Congress) and Rajendra Das (Independent).
For the by-poll, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) have fielded Suryabanshi Suraj, son of late Bishnu Charan Sethi, Baba Harekrushna Sethi and Abanti Das respectively.
