The Cyclonic Storm 'Gulab' over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal lay centered at 5:30AM Sunday morning (September 26), about 270 km east-southeast of Gopalpur (Odisha) and 330 km east of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
The ECoR said that all necessary precautions have been taken in view of the forecast of heavy rain with cyclonic wind.
SRC PK Jena today said that already 5,000 people have been evacuated and the Chief Minister has directed to complete the evacuation process by 4:30 pm today.
Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) PK Jena said that the CM has directed Collectors of 11 districts to keep schools and other educational institutions closed tomorrow in view of the cyclone.
IMD on Sunday said that the cyclonic storm lay centered about 310km east-southeast of Gopalpur and 380 km east of Kalingapatnam in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
