The PCC president said, "A roadshow will be conducted in Rourkela, from Rajgangpur to Sundargarh, Gadagaon and Uttara. He will have a night halt at Jharsuguda on February 7. The next morning, he will lead the Yatra to Belpahar, Hrudaynagar, and Kanaktara before entering Chhattisgarh."

Ahead of the 2024 general elections, the Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress has got its new president. Meenakshi Bahinipati, wife of senior Congress leader and Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati has been appointed as the president of the state Congress’ women wing. 

The state government’s programme of bringing devotees from different parts of the state to Puri to give them an opportunity to see the Parikrama project courted controversy from the first day itself. 

Taking a dig at Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the PCC president said, ”In the last 24 years, the Naveen Patnaik government has turned Odisha into a poverty-stricken state. The government is neck deep in multiple scams such as multi-crore mining scam, the chit fund scam and the land scam. The government has failed to contain the price spiral."

The PCC president said that Kharge will also meet senior party leaders and will hold talks with the leaders of these parties aligned with the INDIA bloc The PCC president urged the people of Odisha to support the Samavesh to make it a success.  

Odisha in-charge of Congress Ajoy Kumar said, “Those leaders who are with us will be called for discussion. Our fight is to save the country. Our fight is to save Odisha. The fruit of patience is sweet.”  

Congress corporator Santosh Bhola said, "Massive irregularities have been done in Bali Yatra projects. The Committee that was formed to probe the scam has not made its report public. I was inquiring about it on Friday. The CMC is not interested in looking into the irregularities.”

As the elections are drawing closer, the state Congress saw one leader after another staging a comeback into its fold after veteran leader Ajoy Kumar was assigned as party’s state in-charge.

Senior Congress leader and Jeypore MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati on Tuesday urged the district administration to close liquor shops and bars across the district on the Ram Mandir consecration day.

The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) launched a dawn-to-dusk bandh on Tuesday from 6 am to 6 pm over alleged paddy procurement irregularities in mandis in Deogarh. 

Speaking on banking and lending issues in rural India, the Shiv Sena spokesperson said, “People are forced to take loans from money lenders at a high interest rate for farming. However, climatic conditions like cyclones and droughts can create problems for their outcomes. That is one of the reasons behind the rising debts of farmers.”

In a statement, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh questioned the motive behind the inauguration of the "incomplete" temple by the leaders of the BJP and the RSS.

He further stated that the BJP and BJD had joined hands for the 2024 General Elections and called upon the people of Odisha and India to bring a wave of change and vote for Congress.

Newly appointed Odisha in-charge of the Congress, Ajoy Kumar trained guns on the Biju Janata Dal(BJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP), accusing them of being one entity and operating together.
