Mumbai Indians’ Mr 360 degree batsman Suryakumar Yadav displayed his class with a blistering century against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday.

While chasing the 174-run target, Suryakumar (102 n o) smashed his second IPL century off just 51 balls. The flamboyant batter hit 12 fours and six sixes as he enthralled the fans.

Though MI lost the top order batters early in the moderate chase with Rohit Sharma (4), Ishan Kishan (9) and Naman Dhir (0) back in the pavilion with only 31 runs on the scoreboard, SKY (as Suryakumar is popularly known) eased off the pressure with his 360-degree shot-making.

The aggressive batter mistimed a couple of shots. However, everything went his way as he made sure that MI cross over the line to keep their hopes alive in the playoffs race.

In the process, Surya became the second Mumbai Indians batter after Rohit to hit two IPL centuries. He also equalled the tally of six T20 centuries by and Indian after KL Rahul and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

In response to the brilliant batting by Surya, former South Africa and RCB pacer Wayne Parnell demanded that a DNA test must be done to determine how good Surya is in the T20 format.
