The BJP legislator was initially admitted to PRM Medical College and Hospital and later shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for further treatment, sources said.

The scheme has three slabs of Rs 500, Rs 700 and Rs 900. After the hike, beneficiaries in the lowest slab of Rs 500 will receive Rs 1000 and similarly, the other slabs will also see a revision by the same amount. With this hike, the state government has to bear an additional expenditure of Rs 3683 crore per annum.  

An eyewitness said, “That night I was by chance at that place till late night. It was actually dangerous for a car coming at that speed and hitting the parked bikes. The bikes were damaged. Had we been on the bikes, we all would have been knocked down.”

As per the allegation by the protestors, though the State government had given them assurance to look into the matter and take necessary steps in this regard, no step has been taken yet. As a result, they were forced to stage the protest in the State capital.

BJD MLA Sambit Routray said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi or BJP will have no impact in Odisha. What will make a difference are Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the Jagannath culture. No other thing will come into play. We are least worried about what TIMES NOW says. All will see how the Chief Minister and the BJD will come out with flying colours in the upcoming elections.”    

They demanded regularisation of their jobs and said that the government should recognize them as fourth-grade employees in the School and Mass Education department. They also demanded a monthly salary of Rs 26,000 and to raise their retirement age to 62.

The agitating teachers warned of intensifying their agitation if the government fails to meet their demands. They said that the government will see their unity in the upcoming elections 

As per reports, the HELA machine purchased for Rs 20 crore will be operated by state-of-the-art technology. The machine will help perform radiotherapy with pinpoint accuracy. Only body parts affected by cancer will be exposed to radiation while healthy cells nearby will not be affected.

Tension gripped Sikharchandi Vihar in Bhubaneswar after a ' Mo Bus' hit a man while he was crossing the road on Sunday evening. Following the incident, local people rushed to the spot and vented their ire on the bus. 

They threw the books inside the Naveen Niwas when they were prevented entry into CM’s residence. Later, they were detained by the police.

Dayal Gangwar has been appointed as ADG (Police Modernization) while IPS officer Rajesh Kumar, currently posted as ADGP, Modernisation, has been transferred as ADGP, Railways & Coastal Security with the Additional charge of Director of the State Forensic Sciences Laboratory (SFSL).

As per reports, looters managed to enter Kalyani Whites Apartment at Bhimpur and broke into three flats. The occupants of the concerned flats were reportedly out of station. Altogether, valuables amounting to over Rs 30 lakh were stolen from three flats. 

The tickets for the West Stand and East Stand are priced at Rs.500 and Rs.200 respectively. Meanwhile, North Stand and South Stand tickets are priced at Rs.100.
