Odia music composer Abhijit Majumdar
Renowned Odia music composer Abhijit Majumdar remains in a coma and is in critical condition. Authorities are considering shifting him to AIIMS Delhi for advanced treatment if required.
On Sunday, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling visited AIIMS Bhubaneswar and reviewed Majumdar’s health condition with doctors and family members. He assured that the Odisha government will bear all medical expenses and has directed that a special medical team be engaged in his treatment. For specialized care, consultations with AIIMS Delhi will also be arranged.
As per reports, Majumdar had been suffering from multiple health issues, including hypertension, hypothyroidism, and chronic liver disease, before slipping into a coma. He has been placed on a ventilator, and while his organs are functioning normally so far. However, doctors have detected a vitamin deficiency. He remains in the ICU under ventilator support.
Majumdar is currently undergoing treatment, and though his condition has not shown signs of improvement, it has not deteriorated either. If the situation demands, he will be shifted to AIIMS Delhi for advanced medical intervention.
Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling said, “After discussing with doctors, we found out that all the treatment is being done following the right protocol. His organs are functioning fine so far. A team of doctors is already treating him, and we will also consult with a team of doctors from Delhi AIIMS. I have instructed that a special team of doctors start treating him, and we hope that he recovers soon.”
