Abhijit Majumdar
Renowned Odia music director and singer Abhijit Majumdar has been shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar after his health condition worsened at a private hospital in Cuttack. Hospital sources confirmed that he was moved late Wednesday evening as his condition remained critical.
Majumdar, known for his popular compositions in Odia cinema, was initially admitted to a private medical facility in Cuttack last Sunday after his sodium levels in the body dropped significantly. He was later taken to another hospital in the CDA area of Cuttack, but with his health showing little improvement, doctors referred him to AIIMS for advanced treatment.
Reports added that family members of the music veteran remain by his side, while several figures from the Odia film industry, including actors Pradyumna Lenka and Sritam Das, visited him in Cuttack before the transfer.
“He was not able to eat or sit up on his own, and his sodium levels were not stabilising. Doctors conducted several tests, and while there are some signs of response, we are praying for his speedy recovery,” said actor Sritam Das, during his visit to Cuttack.
