Only 15 kms north of Sambalpur, Hirakud Dam, the longest earthen dam of the world stands in its lone majesty across the great river Mahanadi. Maa Samalei is the presiding deity of Sambalpur. Sarsatia, a special kind of sweet dish is very famous and unique one.
