Woman among two dead in wall collapse in Sambalpur

A woman and a labourer died on Friday after a mud wall collapsed on them in Kuchinda village of Sambalpur district. 

The deceased has been identified as Namita Patel, the owner of the house and the labourer as Lalit Dehuri. 

According to sources, this morning, Patel called Lalit to break an old wall in her house. 

While Lalit was breaking the wall, Namita was standing on the opposite side. As the wall was weak it suddenly collapsed on him and Patel.

As a result, the duo sustained critical injuries. 

Soon, the family member of Namita rushed them to Kuchinda Sub-Divisional Hospital. However, they were declared dead by the doctors. 

“My daughter was standing at the side of the wall and the labourer was breaking it. As the wall was weak, it suddenly collapsed on the duo, as they were standing on the opposite side. They died on the spot,” said Namita’s father.
