Youth Cong activists pelt stones at police
Cuttack: A senior police officer was injured after the irate Youth Congress activists pelted stones at the police during a rally in Cuttack on Tuesday morning.
Reports said the Youth Congress activists were on a rally in the city this morning on the issue of unemployment problem in the state.
The activists later went to the office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central Division) and broke the police barricade. As the police tried to stop their entry to the office premises, the irate Youth Congress activists pelted stones at them in which additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) Sudarsan Sethi was injured.
Following information, the district administration deployed five platoons of armed police force in and around the RDC office.
The situation is tense but under control, police said.
