‘Wrong agriculture policy causing farmer suicide’

Bhubaneswar: BJP Kisan Morcha national president Vijay Pal Singh Tomar alleged on Saturday wrong agriculture policy of the Odisha government causing death of farmers in the State almost every day like Maharashtra.

Further, Tomar, who was in the capital city to attend a meeting, stated, “Due to the drought situation farmers are taking their life. Though the Centre has sanctioned more than Rs 356 crore through the SDRF this year and first installment of Rs 281.25 crore has been received by the Odisha government, farmers in the State have not even got Rs 10.”

The State government is ignoring the issue of farmers leading to the rise in farmer suicide cases, he added.
