Man hacks wife, sister-in-law to death
Bargarh: In a brutal incident today, a man hacked his wife and sister-in-law to death in Nileswhara village under the Bargarh Sadar police limits. The accused was identified as Narasingh Sahu and the deceased as Sanjukta Sahu(wife) and Janaki (sister-in-law).
According to sources, the accused also attacked his mother-in-law who sustained the injuries and was rushed to the Burla medical college & hospital.
Meanwhile, the accused, Narasingh was caught by the locals and thrashed badly, after which he was arrested by the police. Police later sent him to Bargarh hospital for treatment.
According to sources, Narasingh Sahu was married to Eka Sahu’s younger daughter Sanjukta since last five years. It has been alleged that after marriage Sanjukta was tortured for dowry by her in-laws, following which she moved to her parental house since last 2 months. On Friday morning Narasingh came to take his wife back from village for the Nuakhae festival. But they ended up with a fight and in a fit of rage Narasingh hacked his wife, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law.
They were rushed to the Bargarh hospital under critical condition where Sanjukta and Kalyani were declared dead. Bargarh SDPO started investigating the matter after reaching the hospital.
