Tarabha Youth Murder: Family demands impartial, high-level probe
Dhenkanal: The family members of BJP youth activist Salman Rout, who was shot dead at Tarabha village here during a pre-poll violence, have demanded a high-level and impartial probe into the the murder.
On the other hand, the accused OSAP jawan, Byomkesh Biswal, is on two day police remand for interrogation. Meanwhile, Biswal’s family members, who have left the village after enraged villagers set their house on fire, have raised question on their security.Besides, FIR has been registered at the Sadar police station against 34 persons for ransacking and setting Biswal’s house on fire. On the other hand, relatives of Biswal have demanded a detailed inquiry into the incident and the gun used in the murder.
“Investigation into the incident is in progress. Further information about the murder weapon will be revealed only after the interrogation of Biswal is complete. A case has been registered in the Sadar police station against 34 people for burning the house of the prime accused. We are taking the issue seriously and action will be taken against people for violating law and order by ransacking Biswal’s house,” Dhenkanal SP, Basant Kumar Panigrahi said.
