Durga Puja in Capital city: Artistic ambience at its best

Bhubaneswar: Durga Puja committees in the Capital City are vying with each other to draw the attention of maximum visitors with stunning theme-based torana gates at the puja pandals. Be it the pandal at Saheed Nagar modelled after the famous Swaminarayan temple of Gujarat or the Nayapalli puja pandal set up in the line with Janaki temple of the neighbouring country Nepal, the puja committees have attempted to deliver their best efforts to let visitors feel the excitement.

With the arrival of the autumn, the puja committees get ready to welcome Maa Durga with much revere every year and toarnas with catchy themes and concepts dot the city.

All roads lead to the puja pandal with torana modelled after the famous Swaminarayan temple set up by the Shaeed Nagar Puja Committee, which has been organising the puja since 1978. People are seen busy taking selfies and admiring the artistic display.

The Old Station Bazar Committee, which has been arranging the puja since 1965, is no exception as it has erected a pandal conceptualised after a palace depicted in hit movie ‘Bahubali’.

The Old Station Bazar pandal was a creative avenue in the city with the torana delighting masses in every possible way. Above all the Chandi Medha at the pandal is a treat for the beholder.
