Cops crack Uber car loot case, nab 4

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police on Sunday arrested four persons including MBA student in connection with the loot of Uber car from Khandagiri, on the outskirts of the city last month.

The accused have been identified as Sandip Nayak (27), Pintu Digal (25), Jitendra Sahu (31) and Sivil Priyadarshan (31) of Khurda.

The gang was busted after a detail investigation by Khandagiri police through mobile tracking. The particular gang was also involved in a series of two and four wheeler vehicle lifting racket that was operating since long here.

Police said, the gang had looted a four wheeler Dillip Kumar Pradhan, a driver with Uber on gun point at around 11 pm on March 21.

One of the accused had booked the cab online while the other gang members intercepted and looted the vehicle near Bharatpur.

Senior police officials said that the car was recovered from West Bengal while a motor-cycle and a mobile phone has been seized from the gang members.
