Bhadrak is a city of Odisha state in eastern India. It came into existence on 1 April 1993. According to legend, the city derives its name from the Goddess Bhadrakali whose temple is on the banks of the Salandi River. Dhamra, one of the deep draft ports of India which can accommodate super cape-size vessels is situated in Bhadrak. Bhadrak is also famous for Palua Ladu, special kind of sweet.
The havildar was immediately admitted to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital by his family members in a critical condition. Later he was shifted to a private hospital
A resident of Palaspur village under Chandbali police limits in Bhadrak district has claimed that he had witnessed Sarmistha Rout and her henchmen kidnapping cameraman Manas Swain on February 6.
The fire spread quickly as the hostel roofs were made from highly inflammable thatch.
The Odisha Crime Branch on Wednesday took over the investigation of the sensational Nayagarh cameraman Manas Swain murder case, Crime Branch ADG Sanjeev Panda informed the media.
According to sources, the bus, on its way to Bhubaneswar from Kolkata, met with the accident on National Highway-16 near Bhandaripokhari.
The deceased, Sumati Parida, was a resident of Padmapur area under Basudevpur block in Bhadrak district. Her husband Ramakant Parida had hanged himself to death on March 13.
“We are not under pressure. We are putting the best of our efforts to nab absconding accused Sarmistha Rout and her associate,” Bhadrak SP Charan Singh Meena said.
Police have so far arrested five persons in connection with the brutal murder of 28-year-old cameraman.

In the latest video clip doing rounds on the social media platforms, BJD’s Sarpancha aspirant Pratibha Biswal and Manasi Padhi, the president of party’s womens’ wing from Chandali Block, were seen making women voters of Ward number-12 in Itua village of the Gram Panchayat take pledge on the photograph of Lord Jagannath.
Dozens of people barged into the polling chamber and started ransacking the booth.
The concerned woman also stopped a video journalist from recording any video in and outside the booth before warning him to leave the place at once. She could also be seen issuing open threats to the journalists.
