A CCTV visual obtained from Tangi toll gate has conclusive evidence to establish that Sharmistha along with other accused had gone to Chandikhole in Jajpur district in her car probably after burying Manas’s body in Nayagarh. 

The Crime Branch deposed Sarmistha Rout, Jhuna Bhoi, former OIS officer Niranjan Sethi and Ranjan Nayak alias Raj before the JMFC and prayed the court for five day remand of the accused. 

The multiple internal injuries were well enough to cause cameraman Manas Swain's instantaneous death, the chilling facts in the post mortem report say.  

Cameraman Manas Swain, a resident of Nayagarh district, was allegedly tortured and beaten to death in the Dayal Ashram.  

“We are not under pressure. We are putting the best of our efforts to nab absconding accused Sarmistha Rout and her associate,” Bhadrak SP Charan Singh Meena said.

Raj Nayak, who used to run a mobile accessories and repairing shop named ‘Raj Communication’ in Khandagiri of Bhubaneswar, made a vanishing act after Chandbali police came knocking his doors while probing the murder case of Manas Swain.
