Bhubaneswar: Good news for fliers as 24-hour operation at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here has kick started with two flights landing on Saturday night.

According to sources, two flights of Indigo airlines- Kolkata-Bhubaneswar and Delhi-Bhubaneswar- landed at the city-based airport at 10.05 pm and 12.30 am respectively.

After a night halt at the airport, both flights took off for their destinations on Sunday morning. While the Kolkata left at 5.55 am, the Delhi flight leave the airport at 6.05 am, sources added.

Notably, the airport got permission for 24-hour operation a month ago but no flight since had landed here after 10pm, when the operation used to be shut according to previous timing.
