Bhubaneswar: Jobs for Odisha youths have been created in police forces, fire services and prisons said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today during the Raising Day function of the 9th Special India Reserve Battalion.

"My government places highest priority on creating employment opportunities for youth in both government and private sector. A large number of posts have been created in essential services including police, fire services and prisons," Naveen said.

The CM handed over appointment letters to 490 security personnel for the 9th Specialized IR Battalion for which applications were invited online. This Battalion will be located in Kalahandi.

While the state has raised eight IR Battalions earlier, this is the ninth such battalion and third among the Special IR Battalions raised in the state. It will provide security cover for construction of roads and bridges in Maoist affected areas.
