ED Raids House Of Former IFS Officer Abhay Kant Pathak

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at the residence of former Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer Abhay Kant Pathak at Vivekananda Marg in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

Though the ED is still to clarify on the reason behind the present raid, sources said it is in connection with an alleged money laundering probe against the dismissed IFoS official currently underway by the Central agency.

The ED had, on October 5, grilled Pathak in connection with the money laundering case registered against him last year.

The State Vigilance Department had booked Pathak on charges of amassing assets worth crores of rupees which was disproportionate to his known sources of income. He has also been booked in a job fraud involving money laundering activities by duping people on the pretext of providing employment.

Earlier in May this year, the Centre had given compulsory retirement to Pathak on the State Government’s recommendations over his alleged corrupt activities.
